Sept. 2009 - I thought this might be a fun experiment. Two backup QBs coming from different systems and each becoming a starter for a new team. Let's see how it affects their card values.....
Please note that these are NFT/NFS. This is strictly done as an experiment. As I have stated on the main page, the only investment oppurtunity I personally recommended are cards of backup QBs.
2005 Exquisite Matt Cassel AU
Coming from the Patriots, he did pretty well standing in for Tom Brady. We will see how he does as a starter.
Bought: $50 (Dec 2007)
Peak: $400 (by end of 2008 season)
2010: $200
2011 (Sept Ebay): $83
2005 Exquisite Ryan Fitzgerald AU
It broke my heart when the Bengals released him. Ryan wanted a starting job, but the Bengals already had Carson Palmer (BOOOO!) as their starter. I wish Ryan the best wherever he may play! I would have LOVED a card produced of him in a Bengals uniform. Alas, there was none.....
Bought: $15-20 (Sept-Dec 2007)
Peak: $50 (2010 season)
2010: $50
2011 (Sept Ebay): $106.25 (he's had a really hot start for the 2011 season)
2011 (Sept Ebay) after beating the Pats: $415
2005 Playoff Contenders Ticket Ryan Fitzgerald AU (BGS 9.5)
Bought: $20 as graded (Oct 2009)
Peak: ??
2010: $58 (raw)
2011 (Sept Ebay): $60 (raw)
2011 (Sept Ebay) after beating the Pats: $151
Sept. 26th, 2011: Bills beat the Patriots. Afterwards, five 2005 Fitzpatrick Exquisite RCs sold for $420, $400 BIN, $400 BIN, $350 BIN and $300 BIN respectively for an average of $347. Three of his 2005 Contenders RCs were sold for $148, $150 and $154, all raw, for an average of $151. On the other hand, the Chiefs fans were calling for some heads to roll....
Oct. 1, 2011: That Fitzpatrick 2005 Exquisite card is on fire! On 9/30, four of the cards sold for $390 BO, $390 BO, $455, and $425 BO for an average of $415. For his 2005 Contenders RC, from 9/27 until 9/30, there were four sold for $158 BIN, $167.50, $157.50 and $152.50 for an average of almost $160.
He should have no problem picking apart my team tomorrow.
